How We Locate Sewer Lines
The way we locate sewer lines is by way of a sewer camera with a transmitter on the end and a receiver. What we do is run a sewer camera down the main sewer pipe and once we get to the area we want to locate, we activate the transmitter and scan the ground for the transmitter on the end of the camera, we kill two birds with one stone by doing it this way. The reason I say that is we are actually looking at the condition of the sewer line as we run the camera down the line. The other way is to insert a line tracer and locate the pipe that way, the problem is you cannot see the condition of the pipe. This is by far the best way to locate a sewer drain pipe or line.
