Types of Commercial Water Heaters
You basically have three types of commercial water heaters, gas water heaters, electric water heaters and small “InstaHot” water heaters. When it comes to commercial water heaters, the gas water heater is the most common in apartments, restaurants, and industrial locations. As far as electric commercial water heaters I would say we get one call for about every fifty for commercial. The Instahot is a small water heater that you would see under a sink in a restroom in most commercial units. The next time you go to an office building and use the restroom, take a look under the sink and you will see a small tiny water heater mounted on the wall. Most commercial water heaters are paired up with two water heaters next to each other. The reason is incase one goes out, the other will provide hot water without interruption to the tenants. Commercial Water Heater Repair
Commercial water heaters can be standard tank type heaters or boiler type water heaters like the one in the picture. The boiler type is common in large apartment complexes. This type of heater will never run out of hot water like a tank type heater. The most common boiler is a Raypak brand. This unit has a tube bundle similar to a Tank-Less water heater. A regular household water heater has 40,000 BTUs and a boiler has 1,000,000 BTUs. A BTU is a measure of how much gas is needed to run the water heater. As you can see, the boiler can have up to a million BTUs. This unit can put out a large amount of hot water. We stock most parts to repair just about any commercial Water Heater.
